How it works

How Ago Kitchens Works

Ago Kitchens keeps things simple: helpful planning guides, one phone number when you are ready to talk, and a written agreement directly with Ago Kitchens if you hire us.

What Ago Kitchens Is

Ago Kitchens is a kitchen remodeling contractor serving homeowners in Owatonna, Minnesota. Customers sign their remodeling agreement directly with Ago Kitchens, and projects are carried out by the Ago Kitchens team.

On this site you will find plain-language guides to kitchen remodeling and kitchen cabinets. When you want to talk about your own project, you call. There are no web forms, no accounts, and nothing to sign up for.

Before You Call

Read the guides and note what matters most to you — the problems with your current kitchen, the features you want, and a budget range. The preparation checklist below lists what is useful to have ready.

From Your Call to the Start of Work

Every Ago Kitchens project follows the same sequence:

  1. You call Ago Kitchens. Call Ago Kitchens at 877-708-4271 to discuss your kitchen project. Project inquiries are taken by phone.
  2. Initial project discussion. You talk through your kitchen, what you want to change, your timing, and where you live. It helps to know whether you are thinking about a full remodel or a cabinet project, and whether you are in one of the communities we serve.
  3. On-site consultation. Ago Kitchens visits your home to see the kitchen and discuss the project in person.
  4. Written estimate. You receive a written estimate for the work discussed. Our guide to comparing estimates explains what to look for.
  5. Agreement. If you decide to go ahead, you sign a written agreement directly with Ago Kitchens. It sets out the scope, price, and schedule. Before signing, ask about licensing and insurance and verify them yourself — our contract checklist covers what to review.
  6. Work begins. The Ago Kitchens team begins the work set out in your agreement. See preparing your home for a remodel.

You are always free to ask questions, compare estimates, and take your time before signing anything.

Your Agreement Is With Ago Kitchens

Ago Kitchens is the contractor on your project, and the terms of your project come from your signed agreement, not from this website, and calling us or reading this site does not commit you to anything. Learn more about Ago Kitchens and the communities we serve.

Verify Before You Sign

Before you sign an agreement with any remodeler — including Ago Kitchens — it is reasonable to:

  • Ask for the company's Minnesota license number and check it with the Department of Labor and Industry lookup.
  • Ask for proof of insurance.
  • Make sure the written estimate and agreement describe the same scope, materials, and price.
  • Ask who will pull any required permits and schedule inspections.

We do not publish prices, because costs depend on your home and your choices; your written estimate sets out the price for your project. Our guide to choosing a kitchen remodeler covers each check in detail.

How to Prepare Before You Call

A few minutes of preparation makes the call far more useful:

  • Your address or neighborhood, so availability in your area can be discussed.
  • A few photos of your current kitchen and rough measurements of the room.
  • What you want to change — cabinets, counters, layout, lighting, flooring, appliances.
  • Your timing: when you hope to start, and any dates you need to work around.
  • A budget range. Our cost guide explains what moves a budget.
